1️⃣ Who Can Bring Dependent Visa

  • Postgraduate (Master’s / PhD) students can bring family
  • Undergraduate students usually cannot bring dependents

2️⃣ Eligible Dependents

  • Spouse
  • Children (under 17–18 years)
  • Mother
  • Father

Not allowed:

  • Siblings
  • Parents-in-law
  • Fiancé / girlfriend / boyfriend

3️⃣ Main Requirements

  • Valid Student Pass
  • Minimum 6 months validity
  • Full-time course enrollment
  • Proof of relationship (marriage/birth certificate)
  • Valid passport of dependent
  • University confirmation (if required)

4️⃣ Visa Duration

  • Usually valid for 1 year
  • Linked to student visa validity

5️⃣ Application Process

  • Student Pass must be approved first
  • Apply via university or Immigration
  • Approval from Immigration
  • Dependent travels to Malaysia
  • Dependent Pass stamped

6️⃣Dependent Pass

  • Sponsor (Student) must have a valid Student Pass
  • Prepare required documents (marriage/birth certificate, passport copies)
  • Provide financial proof (bank statement / savings — around RM30,000 recommended, not mandatory)
  • Apply through university or authorized agent
  • Approval from Immigration Department
  • Dependent travels to Malaysia
  • Dependent Pass stamped on passport
